Mayan Fire Ceremony

Please come and join us for a Fire Ceremony to honor a very special day in the Mayan calendar. The morning will be full of giving offerings to the fire with our prayers and intentions with guidance from Aj Q'ijab, Mark Elmy. These are very special and powerful ceremonies and a gift to have Guatemala brought to the US like this.

The day 1 Ajpu is a very special day for several reasons. In the Maya Sacred book, The Popol Vuh, Hunajpu (1 Ajpu) is one of the main characters. He is one of the hero twins who bring the light to the world and start a new era.

Days which are numbered 1 are beginning days, days of rebirth and renewal. Ajpu days can also be seen as days which represent our spiritual journey, our quest to align with our higher purpose. Making a ceremony on this day is an excellent choice if you are looking to renew or begin a new phase on your spiritual path. It is a good day to ask for the illumination of your path, and the assistance of the light of the sun itself to show you the way. It is also an excellent day to give thanks to the ancestors who have shown us the way.

In the relationship with the hero’s journey, we could also see that the hero’s path is one of trials and challenges. They say that “the brightest student is given the toughest assignments”, although when we are facing those tasks they may seem impossible. This day and this ceremony are the perfect time to receive the energy to help overcome the seemingly unassailable. It may help us delve deeply into our souls and find the motivation we need to overcome the challenges we may face, emerging as the victorious hero.

Come and join us!
